Counting the Days

"Travel is the only thing you buy, that makes you richer."

Welcome to my blog! Here I will write about my adventures while studying abroad in Australia! Before I start, I want to tell you a little bit about myself. I currently attend Marian University in Fond du Lac, WI and will be a senior psychology major. At school I am a member of Model United Nations, psychology club, and am a tutor for writing and statistics. I would like to call myself an avid traveler as I have been to Washington DC and New York four times, Japan, Ecuador, the Galapagos Islands and many more. I guess you could say I have a travel bug...

As of today, I have 35 days left until I begin my journey to the world down under!! I am extremely excited for this trip and am beyond grateful for the opportunity to go. The quote above is one of my favorites...through the many trips I have taken, I know the richness one can gain from travelling the world. I know that my trip to Australia will be the greatest yet and I'm looking forward to all of it!! For those of you who do not know, I will be attending Bond University in the study abroad program in Robina, Queensland (Gold Coast) this Fall semester.

Right now I am in the mists of getting paperwork and everything organized for my trip. Who knew how much one needs to take care of before they leave on a big trip!! I have applied for my visa (which surprisingly doesn't take long to get), reserved my room, and registered for classes. I will be taking Photography, Australian History, Intro to Forensic Psychology, and Personality & Individual Differences this Fall. The class I am most excited to take it the photography class...what a better way to get photos, than to take a class taking pictures! As crazy as this sounds (and for those of you who really know me it isn't that crazy), I am already starting to think about packing. I can not fathom only being able to pack four months worth in one suitcase! I'm sure that I will make it work, but that just means early planning :)

It won't be long until I'm on my way to Australia and having some great adventures...
